Resident Engineer Roads Richards Bay

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist

To provide support to our engineering team. In this role, you will execute written and verbal instructions provided by our Head Engineer.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
• Using a range of computer software for developing detailed designs
• Undertaking complex calculations
• Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors
• Compiling job specs and supervising tendering procedures
• Resolving design and development problems
• Managing budgets and project resources
• Scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries
• Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety
• Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
• Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician/Technologist
• Minimum of 10 years verifiable post graduate experience in a similar role
• Must be fluent in English
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be willing to relocate to Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal
• Must have knowledge in design and specifications
• Must have experience with checking and testing materials
• Must have experience with temporary works inspection
• Must be able to work under minimum supervision
• Knowledge of AutoCad will be an advantage
• Thorough attention to detail

• Execute written and verbal instructions from our engineers
• Ability to read engineering documents and technical drawings
