DevOps engineer

We are urgently looking for a DevOps engineer for Standard Bank. The person will be expected to work on a hybrid basis, going in 2x a week to the Rosebank office in JHB (sometimes Simmonds street but not often). BUT the client is moving towards full time back in office at some point, so I just want to be fully transparent about this upfront.
Culture fit is extremely important for the hiring manager. He is looking for someone vibrant, with a great positive attitude as the team is very friendly and upbeat so they need someone who would fit in well.
The rate is between R 90 k – R 100k.

Since this is a hybrid role, the person is expected to live and work in JHB.

Experience
- Hands on work experience in a hybrid (AWS) cloud environment preferably in the financial sector with PCI-DSS compliant systems.
- Implementing CI/CD pipeline automation across functional areas.
- AWS workload automation (provisioning infrastructure and custom software configuration rollout).
- Implementing observability for hybrid cloud-based environments.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Troubleshooting low latency & Java based applications in an SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) context.
- Familiarity/applying Platform Engineering principles and practices.
Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and practices.
Requirements
Mandatory
- AWS Services (EC2, RDS - Postgres & Oracle EE, EBS, EKS, ECS, Load Balancing, Secrets Manager, KMS, Service Catalog)
- Observability tooling - AWS CloudWatch, Splunk / AppDynamics, ELK
- Operating Systems - Linux and Windows server
