Quality Engineer ( Product Safety Representative) (sg2024)

Job Responsibilities

• Assisting in new projects with the establishment of Product Safety, aiming for complete implementation of actions/corrective actions to vehicle safety requirements to prevent repeat failures using the Product Safety catalogue (lessons learnt).
• Inspecting pre-series units in conjunction with other Q-type responsible PSBs to expedite safety-relevant problem recognition and corrective action implementation.
• Undertaking regular vehicle and line checks to evaluate current production (parts, part assemblies, and sub-assemblies) and obtain corrective actions for any potential safety-relevant problems detected.
• Representing the interest of the Quality Assurance Department during technical discussions with Service and the Product Safety Committee.
• Ensuring, initiating, and/or assisting in the establishment of corrective actions to resolve problems, tracking and monitoring the implementation of agreed actions and verifying effectiveness within Production/Field with the Service Department.

Desired Experience & Qualification

QUALIFICATION:

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years’ relevant experience in the automotive industry within Production/Product Engineering/Quality environment.
• Knowledge of vehicle functions (Body, powertrain, chassis, electrical).
• Ability to process and analyse complex data.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate and present at all levels within the organisation.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to make informed decisions and appoint accountability on behalf of the client.
