Electrical Solar Project Manager

Our client in the Renewables and Environment industry is currently looking for an Electrical Solar Project Manager, in Kenilworth, Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

1. Engage with (residential and industrial) clients to understand their energy needs and objectives - this may involve detailed Site Inspections.
2. Provide them with advice on how to manage their electricity consumption, identify quick-wins and potential investment projects.
3. Assessing the Return on Investment (RoI) of investments to save electricity - including solar energy systems.
4. Prepare technical specifications and Quotation Requests - for the company to issue to approved Solar Energy companies.
5. Engage with the Solar Energy companies; adjudicate the bids received and recommend the optimum solution to the Client.
6. Project Manage the entire installation to hand-over and commissioning on the Client’s behalf.
7. Reporting to the Managing Director and closely cooperating with colleagues.
8. Review, learn and continuously improve.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ideally Electrical)
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in a Technical position - ideally with an Electrical Services and/or Solar Energy company.
3. Enthusiastic - with willingness to work in a fast-paced, customer facing environment - and to both learn quickly and to inspire.
4. Strong interpersonal skills with good written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively multi-task daily and meet deadlines.
6. Strong quantitative and analytical skills - with general business acumen.
7. Proficient with desktop applications such as Windows and Office.
8. Fluent in English. Spoken knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
9. A valid driver’s licence.

Remuneration:

1. R25 000 - R40 000 per month.
