We’re looking for a driven and consultative Sales Executive to join our growing African sales team. This role is focused on winning new mid‑market customers by selling Klipboard’s solutions across Africa.
You will play a critical role in driving revenue by:
- Proactively generating your own leads and building a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, and market research.
- Working alongside the African sales team to sell Klipboard products to our prospects.
This is an individual contributor role (not people management) and is ideal for someone who thrives in a solution‑led sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development – Own the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract close and onboarding, with a strong focus on acquiring new customers in the retail, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution and adjacent sectors.
- Client Engagement – Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their business needs and position Klipboard solutions as a key enabler for new customers.
- Sales Execution – Manage the full sales cycle from discovery to full ramp‑up for new opportunities across Africa.
- Consultative Selling – Apply deep industry understanding to design solutions that address operational, compliance, and profitability challenges unique to the customers industry.
- Territory Planning & Account Strategy – Develop and execute strategic territory plans to prioritise high‑value targets and verticals. Segment the market and tailor outreach strategies to different customer profiles.
- Pipeline Management & Forecasting – Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of pipeline activity in CRM. Provide regular sales forecasts and performance updates to leadership.
- Competitive Intelligence – Monitor competitor offerings and market trends to position Klipboard’s solutions effectively. Share insights with product and marketing teams to refine positioning.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- 3‑5+ years of B2B sales experience, with a strong track record in SaaS, ERP, fintech, or other enterprise software solutions.
- Proven success in new business development and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of operational management in capital intensive sectors, workflows and contract management, and financial software within ERP environments.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels including C‑suite.
- Highly self‑motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated success managing sales cycles of 3‑6 months involving complex stakeholder environments.
- Familiarity with sales tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent CRM platforms.
- Experience in selling SaaS solutions is highly beneficial.
