Payment Quality Engineer (Johannesburg and Cape Town)

The Role

We are currently looking for a Payment Quality Engineer for a client based in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough testing of payment-related APIs, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and security.
2. Analyze payment processing workflows and identify areas for optimization and improvement.
3. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and standards related to payment systems and quality assurance practices.
4. Follow and manage quality assurance processes and methodologies.
5. Collaborate with product managers and development teams to create comprehensive test plans and test strategies.
6. Execute functional, regression, and system testing as required.
7. Develop and maintain automated test scripts to increase efficiency and test coverage.
8. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify areas for improvement in product development and testing processes.
9. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to quality assurance.
10. Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
11. Ensure that products comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Certification in quality assurance or software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
3. Knowledge of security testing principles.
4. Familiarity with testing mobile applications and web services.
5. Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role.
6. Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance principles.
7. Knowledge in test automation tools and frameworks (advantage).
8. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
