This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Frontend Developer (Cupid Media) in South Africa. You will play a key role in improving user journeys, performance, and interface quality while collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams. Beyond hands‑on development, you’ll influence technical direction, mentor peers, and drive best practices across the frontend ecosystem. Accountabilities Lead the development of modern, responsive, and high‑performing web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS. Build intuitive user interfaces that deliver seamless experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Contribute to frontend architecture decisions and recommend improvements to existing systems and code structures. Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure efficient integration of APIs and server‑side logic. Work alongside UX/UI designers to transform concepts into visually appealing and functional interfaces. Conduct code reviews and promote clean code, maintainability, testing standards, and development best practices. Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to improve speed, responsiveness, and scalability. Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely technical solutions. Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Partner with senior leadership to evaluate ideas, validate initiatives, and improve product delivery. Requirements Proven experience as a Senior Frontend Developer or similar role in web or mobile product environments. Strong expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and modern CSS methodologies. Solid hands‑on experience building applications with React. Experience using Tailwind CSS to create scalable and maintainable UI systems. Strong understanding of frontend security principles, including OWASP practices, CORS policies, and secure UI development. Experience with Git, GitHub, and collaborative version control workflows. Proficiency with debugging tools and diagnosing issues across browsers and devices. Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira. Understanding of modern frontend architecture patterns and component‑based design. Excellent communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and a proactive mindset.
