Job Title: IT Security Specialist
Salary: R 600 000 – R 700 000 PA CTC
Position Overview: Seeking an experienced Specialist with expertise in Microsoft security solutions and Sophos firewalls to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's IT infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of Microsoft security technologies and the ability to configure and manage Sophos firewalls effectively.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on Microsoft security and Sophos firewalls.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Security, or Sophos certifications are highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft security technologies and Sophos firewall configurations.
- Familiarity with networking protocols, TCP/IP, and network security principles.
Duties:
- Microsoft Security:
- Implement and manage Microsoft security solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft Defender ATP, Azure Security Centre, and Windows Defender Firewall.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
- Sophos Firewall Management:
- Configure, deploy, and manage Sophos firewalls to protect the organization's network.
- Monitor firewall logs, analyze security incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Network Security:
- Work collaboratively with network and system administrators to ensure the overall security of the organization's network infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain firewall rules and policies to safeguard against emerging threats.
- Develop and execute incident response plans in coordination with the cybersecurity team.
- Investigate and analyze security incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Documentation and Training:
- Document security configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Provide training and awareness programs to staff on security best practices.
