Our client, a highly regarded Private Hospital, is seeking to employ a dynamic and energetic Senior Professional Nurse. The aim of this position is to ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the co-ordination of patient care and management of the unit.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure that all utilized stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Job Requirements

• Degree / Diploma in General Nursing.
• Midwifery.
• Post graduate certificate/ diploma in specialty area.
• 3 years post qualification experience.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Pharmacology.
• Nursing record keeping.
• Nursing processes and procedures.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Relevant nursing legislation.
• Infection prevention and control.
• Scientific nursing principles and process.
• Audit patient records.
• Patient assessment skills.
• Develop/ modify a nursing care plan.
• Scope of practice for nurse practitioners.
• For specialised wards; ACLS; ATLS; PALS trained.
• Risk identification.
• Analysing and interpretation skills.
• Basic life support trained.
• Mentorship.
