Compliance Officer

Job Description Compliance Officer Location: Remote (UK Hours) from South Africa. About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-driven and highly organised Compliance Officer to play a critical role in safeguarding standards within a fast-paced education recruitment environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring candidates are fully compliant with UK regulatory requirements, supporting audits, and maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and integrity across all compliance processes. This role is ideal for someone with education recruitment compliance experience who thrives on structure, accountability, and making a real impact behind the scenes. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end compliance process for all candidates Verify and process all required documentation, including those needed for DBS applications Ensure full adherence to REC accreditation and KCSIE guidelines Accurately score and clear candidates in line with internal compliance standards Maintain and manage a high-quality, audit-ready candidate pool Support audit preparation and ensure all files are compliant and up to date Complete DBS checks and Health Risk Assessments Countersign and finalise candidate compliance files Track, record, and report compliance issues on a weekly basis Provide regular compliance reporting and insights to managementRespond to external audit requests and compliance enquiries in a timely and professional manner Act as a point of contact for LADO enquiries and investigations Advise internal stakeholders on compliance requirements, updates, and best practices Knowledge & Experience Strong understanding of REC and KCSIE guidelines In-depth knowledge of DBS processes and safeguarding requirements Experience verifying compliance documentation with high attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy under pressure Key Behaviours Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail Strong sense of accountability and ownership Proactive and solution-focused mindset Confident communicator, able to advise and guide stakeholders Committed to maintaining high standards and continuous improvement Achieve candidate compliance clearance targets within defined timeframes Maintain a high percentage of fully compliant, active candidates Ensure candidate pool is consistently up to date and audit-ready Deliver accurate and timely compliance reporting Maintain strong audit outcomes with minimal compliance gaps Growth & Progression This role offers a clear pathway for progression into more senior compliance roles, with increasing responsibility across: #J-18808-Ljbffr
