Brief Description
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Writing and Proposal Development:
Collaborate with CHSE research teams to draft, edit, and refine research proposals and scholarly articles.
Manuscript Preparation:
Structure, format, and prepare research manuscripts for submission to peer- reviewed journals, ensuring alignment with journal requirements and standards.
Literature Review Support:
Assist with sourcing, synthesizing, and summarizing relevant literature as part of the writing process for proposals and manuscripts.
Project Management and Planning:
Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination of writing-related tasks, including managing timelines, deliverables, and communications between project teams.
Research Communication:
Participate actively in team meetings and facilitate communication with stakeholders to clarify project scope and writing objectives.
Documentation and Administration:
Track document versions, manage reference lists, and organize submission records to ensure the smooth running of writing projects and other duties as assigned by the line manager
Requirements
Academic Qualifications:
A Master’s degree (NQF 9 or higher).
Work Experience:
·At least 1 year of relevant higher education research experience, with direct involvement in academic writing, proposal development, or publication processes.
Skills:
·Proven expertise in academic writing and manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed publication.
·Project management skills: demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and coordinate writing projects or research activities.
·Proficiency in word processing and reference management tools (e.g., Word, EndNote, Mendeley).
·Effective literature searching and synthesis abilities.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
