Hotel Receptionist

Position: Hotel Receptionist – Cape Town | Opera PMS Experience Essential
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Hospitality Hire is recruiting an experienced Hotel Receptionist for a busy hotel in Cape Town, Western Cape.
We are looking for a professional, well-presented and guest-focused Receptionist with previous hotel front office experience and hands-on experience using Opera PMS (Property Management System).
This position is suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy hotel environment, communicates confidently with guests and can remain professional and organised during high-volume check-in and check-out periods.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 essential
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Receptionist or Front Office Receptionist within a hotel
• Previous Opera PMS experience is essential
• Strong guest service and communication skills
• Good computer literacy
• Professional telephone and email communication skills
• Ability to handle guest queries and complaints professionally
• Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume hotel environment
• Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Must be based in Cape Town or able to travel reliably for shift work

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist hotel guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs
• Process guest information and reservations using Opera PMS
• Handle guest accounts, payments and billing queries
• Answer telephone calls, emails and front office enquiries
• Assist guests with hotel information and requests
• Respond to guest queries and complaints professionally
• Liaise with Housekeeping, Reservations, Maintenance and other hotel departments
• Maintain accurate guest profiles and information on Opera PMS
• Ensure front office procedures and hotel service standards are followed
• Provide efficient guest service throughout the guest journey

What We’re Looking For
We are specifically looking for candidates who already have hotel reception / front office experience. This is not an entry-level Receptionist position.
The successful candidate will be confident using Opera PMS, comfortable dealing directly with hotel guests and experienced in the operational demands of a busy hotel front desk.
