POSITION INFO:
Our client is an established and transport brokerage business operating across Southern and East Africa. They are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to establish and lead a new transport broking division, managing cross-border logistics, clearing operations, and a growing client portfolio across the African continent (excluding South Africa). Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the BCF Zambia team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. Establish and grow the transport broking division, building client relationships and expanding the client book within Zambia and across Africa. Manage cross-border logistics and customs clearing operations, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards. Develop and implement strategic operational plans to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and drive profitability. Oversee daily operations, including transport management, logistics coordination and fleet oversight across the division. Maintain strong client relationships, address client needs and resolve operational issues promptly. Work cross-functionally with all departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction. Leverage logistics software and technology to streamline operations and enhance supply chain visibility. Draft divisional sales budgets and recruit staff to grow the division in line with strategic objectives. Improve service quality and operational performance across the transport broking function. Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, supply chain management or transport operations. Strong background in cross-border logistics and customs clearing operations. Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and reducing costs. Leadership experience: ability to lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team. Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities with strategic planning expertise. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, written and verbal. In-depth understanding of logistics and the African market. Outstanding customer service orientation and commitment to client satisfaction. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field. Experience with logistics software and technology platforms.
