BOOK STORE MANAGER – CAPE TOWN -SOMERSET
Salary: R20 000 per month
We are seeking an experienced and driven Book Store Manager to take full responsibility for the successful operation of a busy bookstore. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for books and a solid commercial mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full day-to-day operations of the bookstore
- Lead, motivate and manage staff to ensure high performance and excellent customer service
- Drive sales and implement strategies to achieve targets
- Liaise with publishers, libraries, and schools to build and maintain relationships
- Oversee stock control, merchandising, and in-store promotions
- Ensure the store environment is engaging and well-presented
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 4 years’ management experience in a bookstore or publishing environment
- Strong knowledge of books, authors, and the publishing industry
- Proven ability to drive sales and meet targets
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Well-read with a genuine passion for literature
Preferred
- Relevant qualification or background in publishing or a related field
