Relevant professional certifications such as: ITIL v4 (Intermediate/Managing Professional) COBIT 2019 Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect VMware VCP Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICT operations and infrastructure management. At least 3–5 years in a management role. Demonstrated experience managing hybrid environments (Cloud and On-Premises), networks, storage, and security platforms. Experience in vendor and contract management in compliance with PFMA requirements. Proven track record in disaster recovery planning and business continuity implementation. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the ICT Infrastructure Strategy aligned with the NLC ICT Roadmap and Modernisation Programme. Conduct capacity forecasting and manage technology refresh and lifecycle planning. Promote adoption of automation and modern technologies to improve operational efficiency. Evaluate emerging technologies for strategic alignment. Operations & Service Management Ensure infrastructure availability of at least 99.1% across servers, networks, and storage. Oversee daily ICT infrastructure operations, incident management, and change control processes in line with ITIL and COBIT frameworks. Implement and maintain asset, licence, and configuration management controls. Reduce incident recurrence and downtime. Ensure compliance with ISO 27001, PFMA, and internal ICT policies. Address audit findings and implement corrective risk mitigation measures. Achieve zero critical audit findings within the infrastructure domain. Implement and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Manage System Administration, Helpdesk, and Infrastructure Specialist teams. Develop performance contracts and skills development plans aligned with ICT objectives. Collaborate with ICT Security to strengthen resilience and cybersecurity standards. Drive improved service delivery and user satisfaction. Oversee service providers and ensure SLA compliance. Negotiate contracts and monitor service delivery to ensure value for money. Develop and manage the infrastructure budget in line with PFMA and National Treasury guidelines. Monitor expenditure and report monthly variances. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Successful completion of scheduled disaster recovery tests. Zero critical audit findings in the infrastructure domain. Improved service delivery and user satisfaction ratings. Measurable reduction in downtime and recurring incidents. Advanced knowledge of data centre management, virtualisation, and cloud platforms (Azure, Microsoft 365, VMware). Strong understanding of network architecture, firewalls, SD-WAN, and VoIP environments. Expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions. Sound knowledge of ISO 27001 and ISO 20000 frameworks. Strong budgeting, project management, and leadership capabilities. Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
