Client in the Engineering / Manufacturing Sector Requires an Experienced Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provision and interpretation of management information
• Provision of financial expertise with the overall objective of profit improvement
• Financial performance evaluation
• Cash flow monitoring
• Development of corporate systems and controls
• Implementation of systems
• Management of assets and liabilities
• Ensure that key ratios are managed and achieved
• Ensure that finance processing is completed on time
• Ensure that policies, processes, and procedures are adhered to
• Ensure processing takes place on time to produce management reports before month end
• Ensure accuracy of all books of account including general ledger, debtors, creditors, inventory, and fixed assets
• Prepare budgets and forecasts
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts
• Prepare monthly management reporting packs
• Prepare financial reporting packs for Auditors
• Assist with internal and external audit processes
• Ensure all taxation records are accurate and returns submitted on time
• Assist with processes where stock is controlled, perpetual stock takes are conducted and stated value is fair
• Ensure that all Accounts Payable are accurate
• Work closely with management to facilitate operational processes such as sales
• Able to balance operational responsibilities and financial reporting responsibilities
• Ensure that all statutory requirements are complied with
• Manage the Finance team to ensure processing and reporting deadlines are met
• Ensure that weekly and monthly deadlines are met - month ends, weekly reports, salaries and wages, assets registers, VAT returns, etc.
• Ensure that financial reporting packs are completed on time
• Ensure that all tax returns are submitted on time
• Ensure that all fixed assets are reconciled, and correct entries passed
• Ensure that Bankers receive accurate reports on time

Desired Experience & Qualification

B Com: Accounting

Min. 5 years experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment
