Our client, a Fruit and Agriculture company that trades locally and internationally, offers a challenging opportunity for a dynamic Financial Manager who excels in a commercial, fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):

• Accounting Records
  • Ensure adherence & compliance with the Group’s Accounting Policies & Systems that comply with IFRS.
  • Smooth, time-efficient external audit & audit findings report with no material findings.
• Internal Controls
  • Create a sound internal control environment.
  • Manage staff to ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Reporting
  • Accurate & timeous monthly local financial reporting (incl variance reporting).
  • Accurate monthly full-year forecasting with necessary proof.
• Annual Budgeting
  • Timeous completion of Annual Budget Process.
  • Strict budget control and cost management within Board Approved Budget.
• Working Capital Management
  • Strict cash flow management.
  • Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Management.
• General Ledger Recons
  • Manage timeous completion of GL Recons.
• Fixed Asset Management
  • Preparation of Annual Capital Budget for Board Approval.
  • Management of Approved Projects within Board Approved parameters (Actual vs Budget).
• Statutory Reporting to SARS
  • Management of Statutory Reporting.
• Stability in staff turnover.
• Guide, Lead & Mentor your team.
• Business Partner
  • Strategic Business Partner to General Manager and other stakeholders.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education & Experience:

• Formal tertiary accounting qualifications with at least 5 years accounting work experience – preferably in the fruit and/or primary agricultural industry.
• Ideally a completed Professional Qualification and registration with a professional body (CIMA/SAIPA).
