Job Title: Bookkeeper

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial records, ensure compliance, and support accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with trusts, eFiling, and a solid understanding of both personal and income tax.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash flow
• Prepare and maintain income statements and balance sheets
• Handle bookkeeping for trusts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
• Manage and submit tax returns via eFiling (essential)
• Assist with VAT submissions and statutory requirements
• Prepare financial reports and support month-end and year-end processes
• Liaise with accountants, auditors, and relevant stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper (3+ years preferred)
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Pastel, and Sage
• Strong experience working with trusts (non-negotiable)
• Experience with SARS eFiling (non-negotiable)
• Solid understanding of:
• Personal tax
• Income tax
• Financial statements
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping
• Experience working in a professional services or accounting firm
