Job description

Your client, an accounting firm, is currently seeking the services of an Accountant to join their offices in Durbanville.

Performing customer accounts on Xero
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Preparation of annual financial statements
Preparation of month-end and year-end reconciliations
Liaising with customers regarding their business and assisting them in making financial decisions
Management of annual audits (where applicable)
Payroll processing
Bi-annual employer reconciliations
Workman's compensations and RMA submissions
Calculations of provisional tax and income tax (companies and individuals)
Submissions of VAT201, EMP201, ITR14, ITR12, IRP6
Other administrative tasks

Accounting Degree
Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles.
Good understanding of financial accounting and taxation with practical experience with:
SARS
Systems and processes
EMP501 reconciliations
Provisional tax calculations
Drafting of AFS and year-end processes, working papers, and journals.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software Xero and Market Place.
Experience in managing a team of 1 – 2 team members/clerks.
Experience in reviewing management accounts, financial statements, and financial/SARS letters. Experience in client communication, interfacing, and meetings.
Excellent written and spoken skills.
Not hesitant to give advice and trust own judgment.
Excellent planning and organizing skills.
Responsible and deadline-driven.
Time management abilities.
Afrikaans and English proficient.
