Compassionate RN for Elderly Care in Retirement Village

Job Overview:
A well-established retirement village in Somerset West is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join their healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to elderly residents, including supporting residents living with dementia and other age-related conditions.

This role requires someone patient, attentive, and passionate about improving the quality of life of senior residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional nursing care to retirement village residents

• Monitor and assess residents’ health conditions and treatment plans

• Assist with dementia care and management of cognitive conditions

• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed

• Maintain accurate medical records and care plans

• Work closely with doctors, caregivers, and family members

• Respond to medical emergencies when required

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse qualification

• Current SANC registration

• Minimum 2+ years nursing experience, preferably with elderly patients

• Experience with dementia care advantageous

• Strong compassion, patience, and communication skills

• Ability to work shifts if required

Preferred:

• Experience working in a retirement village, frail care facility, or clinic

• Knowledge of geriatric and dementia care practices
