Service Technician

Our client in the chemical manufacturing and distribution industry is seeking a skilled and customer‑focused Service Technician to join their team based in Gqeberha.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Support

• Maintain the company’s professional brand image and service standards at all times.
• Conduct regular customer visits and maintain an active client call cycle.
• Monitor sales and gross profit activities within the customer portfolio.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders.
• Provide prompt technical support and customer assistance.
• Assist with deliveries when required.

Technical Installations & Maintenance

• Install, service, repair, and maintain electronic chemical dosing equipment.
• Carry out installations and maintenance on:
  • Commercial laundry machines
  • Commercial dishwashers
  • Glass washers
  • Crate washers
• Install soap dispensers, chemical dosing systems, and related hygiene solutions.
• Program and troubleshoot dosing systems and laundry equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown support.
• Ensure customer sites comply with relevant HSE standards.

Customer Training & Relationship Management

• Conduct on‑site staff training for customers.
• Complete all required training administration and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance on the correct and efficient use of products and equipment.
• Deliver service reports, calibration reports, and maintenance documentation.

Communication & Reporting

• Attend sales and technical meetings.
• Submit weekly technical and sales activity reports.
• Provide market feedback on competitor activity and customer developments.
• Adhere to company communication and reporting procedures.

Administration & Stock Control

• Assist with customer account and debtor follow‑ups when required.
• Ensure all new customer documentation is completed correctly.
• Maintain accurate customer records and merchandising standards.
• Assist with stock management and stock takes where necessary.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within the electrical field.
• Strong technical fault‑finding and troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Advantageous Experience

• Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience installing and maintaining laundry dosing equipment.
• Experience programming commercial laundry machines.
• Experience installing dishwashing and chemical dosing units.
• Knowledge of industrial dishwasher maintenance and repairs.

Computer Literacy

• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with virtual platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom.
