Senior Accountant Position

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join an accounting firm. Must have a B Com: Accounting, completed articles, Pastel and Caseware experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
• Cashbook entries, journal postings, and month-end procedures.
• Creditors and debtors reconciliation.
• Maintain fixed asset register.
• Reconcile VAT reports to the GL and submit VAT returns.
• Prepare cashflow statements.
• Generate management accounts.
• Perform provisional tax calculations.
• Compile AFS and tax computations for Close Corporations, Companies, Trusts, and Sole proprietors on Caseware, including all accounting work and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Submit annual tax returns for Close Corporations and Private Companies.
• Plan jobs and supervise team members.
• Manage and assist Junior Accountants.
• Assist the Partners in the fulfillment of their duties and staff in technical and computer matters.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• B. Com Accounting.
• Completed Articles.
• Experience with Caseware.
