Introduction

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operational Analyst with extensive experience in the supply chain industry, particularly in road and freight transport. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and improving our transportation operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer satisfaction goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analysis of transportation operations, including route optimization, vehicle utilization, and freight management, to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation processes, reduce lead times, and minimize costs while maintaining service quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, procurement, and operations, to align transportation activities with overall business objectives.
• Utilize data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights, forecast demand, and make data-driven decisions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to transportation operations and develop performance metrics to measure and track progress.
• Identify and mitigate risks in transportation operations, such as delays, capacity constraints, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in road and freight transport to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior analysts, fostering a culture of learning and development within the team.
• Collaborate with technology teams to leverage IT solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS), to automate processes and improve visibility across the supply chain.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on road and freight transport operations.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and modeling techniques. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives in transportation operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and coaching junior team members.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or related software.
