Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in the heavy manufacturing/mining industry. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills and experience working with financial data in a manufacturing/mining environment. This role will involve overseeing the financial records of the company and ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of the company, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
- Full‑function creditors and debtors management
- Petty cash processing and reconciliations.
- Daily stock & inventory processing and adjustments
- Post journal entries for accrued expenses, and interest‑bearing loans
- Monitor cash flow and budgeting to ensure financial stability
- Assist with tax preparation and reporting
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in financial accounting, within the heavy manufacturing/mining industry
- Proficient with Accounting Packages - eg. Sage, Pastel, Xero Accounting.
- Intermediate Excel Skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
