Southern Africa Solution Engineer PV Utility / BESS

PV and Energy Storage position plays an important role with this rapidly growing company. This is a very dynamic and fast-track position. The position will be the key member of the Southern Africa Direct Sales management team, which oversees the company’s PV and Storage solutions and technical products strategies in Southern Africa regions. This position will also be the technical and solution point of the contact person for utility-scale inverter/system products & commercial, industrial and providing product/system trade-off study to support the company’s multi-generation product road map.

Solution Development & Support

• Lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge PV solutions across Southern Africa, providing end-to-end technical support to sales teams and customers.
• Analyze customer requirements (via on-site visits, emails, and calls) to develop tailored PV product solutions, ensuring alignment with technical specifications while addressing deviations and clarifications.
• Drive technical project closure by offering expert guidance and resolving key challenges.
• Conduct product and solution training sessions (both online and offline) to enhance customer understanding and adoption of our PV technologies.
• Serve as a technical advisor, addressing customer inquiries and ensuring seamless integration of solutions.
• Monitor regional PV industry trends, competitor solutions, and emerging technologies.
• Perform in-depth analysis of competitor offerings, identifying strengths and weaknesses to refine and differentiate our solutions.

Marketing & Business Development

• Support promotional activities, including exhibitions, webinars, and marketing campaigns, to increase brand visibility and market penetration.
• Collaborate with regional teams to develop compelling technical proposals and presentations.

Project Execution & Technical Troubleshooting

• Work closely with HQ solution engineers to oversee PV project execution, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
• Proactively mitigate risks and optimize project workflows to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) as scheduled.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical/Electric Power System/Automation/Power Electronics/Communication Engineering and other related majors.
• Strong communication skills, sense of teamwork, responsibility and learning ability.
• English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Familiarity with energy storage systems (ESS) and hybrid solutions. Photovoltaic, transmission / distribution transformer, AIS / GIS (MV switchgear) , EPC design institute industry experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
