Job description
The FAIS Ombud Graduate Recruitment Programme is a structured 12-month graduate programme designed to develop competent trainee entrants into the labour market. Successful candidates will work under dedicated mentors within the Case Management/Adjudication Department and receive competency-based training in dispute resolution, stakeholder engagement, case evaluation, and adjudication processes within the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate fair negotiations and settlements in dispute resolution
- Engage respectfully with stakeholders involved in cases
- Analyse evidence and arguments objectively during case evaluation
- Adjudicate cases efficiently and manage workload effectively
- Maintain confidentiality and security of case information
- Ensure fairness, impartiality, and ethical decision-making
- Communicate rulings and legal concepts clearly
- Participate in mentorship and competency‑based training programmes
Qualifications
- South African citizen with a valid South African ID documentLLB degree
- PLT (Practical Legal Training) will be an advantage
- Strong academic background
- Passion for public service and interest in the financial sector
- Able to work in a stressful environment and willing to work extra hours
- Energetic, self-driven, and deadline-driven
