Job description

Job Purpose

To develop and implement organisational development interventions which enable employees and business to function optimally.

Outputs

  • Collaborate and partner with business and HC team to facilitate and deliver value adding organisation development interventions which address identified organisational development gaps.
  • Manage the design and implementation of interventions customised to fulfil identified organisational development needs.
  • Conduct evaluation measures on implemented interventions to analyse the effectiveness of these and if it achieved the desired outcomes.
  • Partner with business and the HC team in initiating and improving the effective delivery of human capital management solutions, while integrating and sharing best practices.
  • Facilitate initiatives that equip leaders throughout the performance cycle based on business requirements.
  • Assess the development need through completing qualitative and or quantitative techniques to gather insights and data to establish an appropriate intervention based on client needs.
  • Deliver change initiatives which improve individual, team and departmental engagement, collaboration, performance and work satisfaction.
  • Encourage, promote and support the utilisation of the EVP to enhance employee wellness in the division.
  • Facilitate organisational development interventions to effectively manage conflict, build teams, create change agility and build a culture that aligns to business values.
  • Actively seek to understand existing and new strategic and cultural issues and support the implementation of effective organisational development programmes and interventions to address the issues.
  • Drive a culture that guides and directs best practice, fostering an environment of continuous learning, improvement, and cohesiveness.
  • Compile and submit organisational development reports and other related metrics as required.
  • Keep abreast of trends, legislation and best practices within the organisational development field to optimise service delivery.

  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with all key stakeholders by initiating and maintaining regular interactions.
  • Provide holistic client centric solutions, expertise and advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Coach, advise and provide tools to leaders to successfully lead change in their environment.
  • Act as a trusted coach and advisor to leaders and employees in the business on organisation development related matters.

People

  • Build strong relationships through providing specialist know-how and leadership to others, expressing positive expectations.
  • Continuously develop own expertise in terms of industry and subject matter development and application thereof in an area of specialisation.
  • Positively influence and manage change and offer specialist support where required.
  • Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas and involvement of colleagues and staff.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture of work centric thinking, productivity, service delivery and quality management.

Finance

  • Contribute to the development of area specific budgets to minimise expenditure, in alignment with operational plans.
  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.
  • Implement and provide input into governance processes, systems and legislation within area of specialisation.

Job Requirements

Formal Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resource Management/Industrial Psychology/Sociology and or relevant equivalent qualification Essential
  • Post-graduate qualification in Human Resource Management/Industrial Psychology and or relevant equivalent qualification Essential

On-the-job Training / Qualifications

  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychologist/Psychometrist Essential

  • 3 - 5 years experience in an Organisational Development role or equivalent relevant experience (essential)
  • Exposure to the development and implementation of Organisational Development interventions (essential)
  • Min 3 years experience in the HR function working with processes and businesses to deliver HR solutions (essential)
  • Finance/ insurance industry (desirable)
