Job description
Duties:
- Operational and guest service responsibilities
- Night audit and financial responsibilities
- Security, safety and compliance responsibilities
- Supervisory / leadership responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of the night audit, end-of-day procedures and financial reports.
- Perform check-in and check-out procedures according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Post room and conference charges to respective folios accurately and on time.
- Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts as per SOP.
- Verify that all charges posted from restaurant, bar, Micros / POS and SPA have reached the correct guest folios and that no dockets are missing.
Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of hotel front desk supervisory experience, experience handling cash, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks.
- Previous night audit experience and exposure to hotel financial reporting will be an advantage.
- Well-developed communication and customer relations skills.
- Well-developed communication and customer relations skills.
- Knowledge of hotel Front Office operations, night audit procedures and relevant hotel policies.
- High level of customer service and maintain a high profile in the day-to-day front office operations.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently during the night shift.
- Highly organised, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible
- Ability to work with computer systems, telephones etc.
- Ability to work in a hotel environment with varying levels of noise and guest activity.
- High level of integrity, reliability and professionalism.
- Demonstrated leadership, initiative and hands-on approach to daily operations.
