Job description
An opportunity for an experienced YELLOW EQUIPMENT - DIESEL TECHNICIAN (FIELD & WORKSHOP SERVICE) is required for permanent employment based in Newcastle.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose, repair and maintain earthmoving and construction equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing
- Perform field service breakdowns and emergency repairs
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults
- Interpret technical manuals and OEM specifications
- Complete job cards and service documentation accurately
- Conduct machine inspections and fault reporting
- Commission and test repaired equipment
- Support workshop and customer site operations
- Maintain high safety and workmanship standards
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Technician
- Min 35 years'' yellow plant/equipment experience preferred
- Experience on excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, articulated dump trucks or similar equipment advantageous
- Strong hydraulic diagnostics knowledge
- Electrical and electronic fault-finding skills
- Computer literate
- Valid driver''s licence
- Ability to travel for field service work
- Traceable & contactable references
- Local residency or relocation required
