About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a large-scale Warehouse Management System (WMS) programme within a retail and supply chain environment.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting business transformation initiatives by working closely with operational stakeholders, supply chain teams, warehouse management teams, technology teams, and project delivery teams to analyse, define, and document business requirements and process improvements.

This role requires a highly capable Business Analyst with strong retail and distribution centre (DC) experience, a proven track record delivering complex business and technology projects, and the ability to operate effectively across both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for driving requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder engagement, solution validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis Planning & Strategy

• Develop and execute the Business Analysis approach and delivery plan for assigned workstreams.
• Define analysis activities, stakeholder engagement plans, requirements management strategies, and deliverables.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives, operational requirements, and project outcomes.
• Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, product owners, and delivery teams to support project success.

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

• Facilitate workshops, interviews, focus groups, and requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with warehouse operations teams, supply chain stakeholders, business leaders, and technology teams.
• Drive consensus across multiple stakeholder groups and manage competing priorities.
• Translate complex business needs into clear and actionable requirements.

Requirements Elicitation & Documentation

• Gather, analyse, validate, and document business requirements.
• Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including:
• • Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
  • Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS)
  • User Stories
  • Process Flows
  • Use Cases
  • Gap Analysis Documentation
  • Business Rules
  • Requirements Traceability Matrices
• Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and aligned to business objectives.

Business Process Analysis

• Analyse and document current-state (As-Is) business processes.
• Design and document future-state (To-Be) processes.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and opportunities for process optimisation.
• Conduct detailed process mapping and gap analysis activities.
• Support business process redesign initiatives across warehouse and supply chain operations.

Solution Validation & Testing

• Support solution design reviews and requirement validation activities.
• Collaborate with development and testing teams to ensure requirements are correctly implemented.
• Prepare and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities including:
• • Test planning
  • Test scenario creation
  • Test case development
  • Defect management
  • Business sign-off
• Ensure business readiness and successful deployment of solutions.

Agile & Waterfall Delivery

• Operate effectively within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies where applicable, including:
• • Sprint Planning
  • Backlog Refinement
  • Sprint Reviews
  • Daily Stand-ups
• Support project governance and reporting requirements.

Required Experience

• Certified Business Analyst qualification.
• Minimum 8+ years of Business Analysis experience.
• Proven experience within retail environments.
• Strong supply chain and distribution centre (DC) experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementations or enhancements.
• Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and process analysis experience.
• Experience facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
• Proven experience managing and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Strong business process modelling and gap analysis capability.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with large-scale retail transformation programmes.
