Our client is an award-winning, regulated financial services group specializing in fund services, including administration, accounting, investor services, and multi-jurisdictional distribution. They support both traditional and alternative fund structures and mandates across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal & Contractual Advisory: Draft, review, interpret, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and legal documents to align with business objectives and regulatory needs. Provide clear, technically sound legal opinions on corporate and commercial law.
• Research & Monitoring: Monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory developments to advise the business on potential impacts. Research and report on complex or novel legal issues affecting operations, clients, or strategic initiatives.
• Regulatory & Compliance Support: Conduct legal and regulatory analysis for operational projects, client engagements, and internal initiatives. Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Data Privacy: Advise on data privacy and protection matters, interpreting new and evolving data-related legislation.
• Training & File Management: Maintain and manage legal documentation and case files with precision and confidentiality. Assist in designing and delivering internal compliance training programs.
• Stakeholder Engagement & External Support: Act as a legal liaison and liaise with external counsel, regulators, public authorities, and government bodies on related issues and disputes.
• Strategic Legal Initiatives: Contribute to risk management strategies by identifying legal risks and proposing robust mitigation measures.

Requirements:

• Education & Qualification: An applicable degree in law; admission as an attorney, or an equivalent professional legal qualification.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in a legal counsel, compliance, or advisory role, ideally within a regulated financial services environment.
• Drafting Expertise: Strong, demonstrable experience in legal drafting, including preparing, reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating complex commercial and corporate agreements.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, including AML/CFT, data protection, and governance requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven experience providing practical, commercially focused legal advice to senior management and executive stakeholders.
• External Liaison: Experience engaging with regulators, external legal counsel, and professional advisors.
• Personal Attributes: High levels of professional judgment, integrity, discretion, and a keen attention to detail.
