Our Client operates globally, supporting large-scale infrastructure and enterprise systems where data availability, performance, and security underpin everything they do. Their IT environment is complex and high-volume, requiring experienced professionals who can ensure systems are resilient, optimised, and scalable across multiple platforms.
Youll join a mature Enterprise IT function responsible for managing mission-critical database environments across cloud and on-prem infrastructure. The role blends hands-on database administration with performance engineering, system design, and continuous optimisation.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments
• Monitor and optimise database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Implement backup, recovery, and security processes to ensure data integrity
• Support development, testing, and production environments across the business
• Design and implement high-availability and replication solutions (Data Guard, GoldenGate)
• Collaborate with development teams to optimise queries and database interactions
• Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and automation

Requirements:

• 57 years experience in database administration within enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle (12c/19c) and Microsoft SQL Server
• Strong expertise in database performance tuning and optimisation
• Experience with replication, clustering, and HA solutions (Data Guard, GoldenGate)
• Solid understanding of relational database concepts and data modelling
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and enterprise storage (SAN)
• Exposure to cloud database environments (AWS / Azure)
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues under pressure
• Strong focus on data integrity, security, and system reliability
• Ability to work across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
