L2 Server Technician

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled OT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and support our operational technology (OT) environment at the Mototolo site. This pivotal role requires a hands-on expert who can oversee the entire server infrastructure, from daily support to strategic planning and cyber security. You will be the single point of contact for all OT server-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum performance. This is a contract role.

Key Responsibilities

• Server Administration & Support: You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of server administration, including physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V), virtualization, backup, and security. You will ensure all patching routines are aligned with vulnerability response protocols and maintain accurate server data in the CMDB.
• Strategic & Technical Leadership: Lead the migration to new technologies, evaluate processing performance, and forecast resource needs. You will provide technical input into product roadmaps for all enterprise OT infrastructure services.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: You'll manage the performance of vendors, ensuring they meet or exceed contractual commitments. You will also own a monthly service delivery review with stakeholders and act as the primary advisor to various technical teams.
• Cyber Security & Governance: Oversee and coordinate support for cyber security within the OT environment. You will manage governance, risks, and ensure the effective and efficient performance of all enterprise OT services.

Qualifications

• Degree or National Diploma related to the field
• Level 2 Server Administration and Support: A proven track record in server administration, including extensive experience with physical and virtual servers.
• Extensive Knowledge: You must have knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, backup, virtualization, and server security.
• Leadership & Communication: Strong ability to advise technical teams, manage vendors, and act as a single point of contact for a critical environment.
