About the Role
A leading industrial operation is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Mechanical Foreman to join their maintenance team in Durban.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong leader with a solid maintenance background and proven experience managing artisans within a demanding production environment.
Key Requirements
- Trade Tested Artisan
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related qualification
- 8–10 years' relevant maintenance experience
- Minimum 5 years' supervisory/management experience
- Experience managing teams of 20–30 artisans
- Strong preventative and breakdown maintenance experience
- Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Mining or heavy industrial experience highly advantageous
- Valid driver's licence
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily maintenance operations
- Drive preventative and breakdown maintenance activities
- Minimise plant downtime and improve equipment reliability
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and resource allocation
- Provide technical support and hands‑on assistance where required
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Drive maintenance performance and team productivity
- Support fault‑finding and implementation of corrective actions
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a hands‑on approach, capable of operating effectively in a fast‑paced industrial environment while maintaining high maintenance standards and team performance.
