Electrical Technician

Our client in the Manufacturing Industry requires the services of an Electrical Technician

Overview: The ideal candidate will possess good fault-finding and problem-solving skills to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key performance areas:

• Involved in the smooth running and optimization of the equipment and plant.
• Performs condition monitoring on equipment and machinery.
• Analyse the efficiency of equipment and machinery.
• Performs planned and unplanned maintenance on all electrical and electronic equipment and machinery, including Siemens drives.

Desired Experience & Qualification

The successful candidate must have:

• Matric with a S4/N6 Electrical Engineering qualification or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years relevant experience in an engineering/manufacturing and production environment.
• Ability to setup, program, and perform fault-finding on S5/S7 Siemens PLC, Siemens Master Drives, and Intouch HMI systems.
• Siemens PLC experience or similar system.
• Instrumentation experience will be advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic drawings and diagrams.
• Supervisory skills with the ability to transfer knowledge to students and apprentices.
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Able to work in a team as well as individually.
• Good work ethic with sober habits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able and willing to perform standby and call out duties.
• Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport.
