Requirements:

• This role is fully remote. You can work from anywhere in South Africa.
• 6–9 years of relevant experience in embedded systems development
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded or low-level systems
• Experience designing and integrating firmware with RTOS environments
• Deep knowledge of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures
• Experience with hardware-software integration and board bring-up
• Experience with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, or Ethernet
• Experience using hardware debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analysers
• Experience working in an English speaking environment

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems (e.g. Yocto, Buildroot)
• Experience with hardware design or PCB review collaboration
• Knowledge of assembly language for ARM or x86 architectures
• Experience with automated testing frameworks for embedded systems
• Exposure to connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, or LoRa
