Duties & Responsibilities

Our client a leader in the financial services sector is seeking a Financial Manager to take full responsibility for the financial reporting and control of a key business cluster. This role forms part of a strategic finance function reporting directly to senior leadership and contributing at an executive level.

You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timeous financial reporting overseeing financial controls managing a small finance team and ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role also includes involvement in strategic planning budgeting forecasting and audit management.

This is a high-impact position suited to a commercially astute finance professional who can balance operational execution with strategic input while maintaining strong governance and control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial reporting function including consolidation and presentation of cluster financial results.
• Oversee and continuously improve financial controls systems and processes.
• Manage complex accounting entries journals and reconciliations.
• Take ownership of budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including tax submissions (VAT PAYE Income Tax etc.).
• Facilitate and manage internal and external audits.
• Monitor cash flow working capital and financial efficiency.
• Provide strategic financial input to leadership and contribute to executive decision-making.
• Oversee payroll function across the group.
• Lead and develop finance team members ensuring performance and succession planning.

Job Experience and Skills Required: NON NEG

• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• Minimum 5 years post-articles experience in a financial management role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Solid understanding of taxation and regulatory frameworks (e.g. FSCA).
• Proven experience in financial controls reporting and audits.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.
• Strong leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
