Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and implement Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems for industrial and process plant applications. - Produce and review electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, control philosophies, and technical documentation. - Develop and configure PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. - Specify and integrate instrumentation, field devices, control panels, MCCs, VSDs, and electrical distribution equipment. - Commission new plant installations and support plant upgrades and expansions. - Perform fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. - Develop preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime. - Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and company procedures. - Support plant shutdowns, maintenance activities, and commissioning projects. - Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, budgets, and project documentation. - Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders during project execution. - Provide technical support and mentoring to maintenance and operations teams. Minimum Requirements: - BEng, BSc, BTech, or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline. - Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng), Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng), or eligibility for registration will be advantageous. - Minimum 5 years' experience in an EC&I engineering role within mining, manufacturing, power generation, chemical, water treatment, or heavy industrial environments. - Strong knowledge of: - PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Omron or similar) - SCADA and HMI systems - Industrial instrumentation and process control - Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) - Motor Control Centres (MCCs) - Low- and medium-voltage electrical systems - Industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP or similar) - Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software is advantageous. - Knowledge of functional safety systems and hazardous area installations is beneficial. - Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
