Intermediate Game Developer

Our client is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Game Developer to contribute to innovative projects in the gaming industry, leveraging Unreal Engine 5 to deliver captivating gameplay features and systems.

Duties

• Develop gameplay features, systems, and tooling using Unreal Engine 5, utilizing Blueprint and C++ as appropriate.


• Collaborate with designers and developers to implement and iterate game mechanics, player interactions, and content pipelines.


• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that aligns with team standards and supports product longevity.


• Debug and profile game builds to identify and resolve performance issues, logic errors, and unexpected behaviours.


• Participate in design discussions, sprint planning, and reviews, offering both technical and creative insights.


• Integrate assets from content creators into the engine, ensuring accuracy and performance benchmarks.


• Research Unreal Engine features, community solutions, and industry best practices to address development challenges.


• Contribute to internal tooling and automation to enhance team efficiency.


• Support testing efforts by creating test cases, reproducing bugs, and assisting with quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• Solid experience in game development, with a minimum of 3 years in the industry.


• Proficiency in C++ and Blueprint scripting within Unreal Engine 5.


• Strong understanding of gameplay systems, content pipelines, and engine features.


• Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.


• Excellent problem-solving skills for debugging and performance profiling.


• Good collaboration and communication skills.

Familiarity with the following

• Data management and automation within Unreal Engine.


• Management of game content and assets.


• Experience with R programming language is a plus.
