- A well-established industrial solutions company is looking for an experienced Sales Person with a strong background in technical sales of chemical raw materials and mechanical/engineering products.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, and growing sales across the mining, oil & gas, water treatment, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities and manage existing customer accounts.
- Promote and sell chemical raw materials and mechanical/engineering products.
- Provide technical sales support and product recommendations to clients.
- Prepare quotations, tenders, and negotiate contracts.
- Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry through to order fulfilment and after-sales support.
- Liaise with internal departments to coordinate procurement, logistics, and project requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers across mining, oil & gas, water treatment, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, municipal, and industrial sectors.
- Coordinate project schedules, customer communication, and commercial administration.
- Monitor project progress, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety, and ISO standards.
- Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and customer records.
- Continuously develop technical product knowledge and industry expertise.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' technical sales experience within the chemical, mining, or mechanical engineering industries.
- Experience selling chemical raw materials, industrial chemicals, pumps, valves, instrumentation, or related engineering products.
- Strong understanding of the mining, industrial, or petrochemical sectors.
- Experience with tendering, contract negotiations, and project management.
- Sales Management Diploma or relevant sales qualification preferred.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within Gauteng.
