A well-established industrial operation is seeking an experienced Electrical Chargehand to lead its electrical maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified artisan with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to oversee maintenance, fault-finding, installations, and continuous improvement within an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of electricians, overseeing daily maintenance, repairs, and installations.
• Identify and troubleshoot complex electrical faults, providing effective solutions and technical guidance.
• Plan and coordinate daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and quality standards, including conducting regular safety checks.
• Test, inspect, and certify electrical installations to ensure quality and compliance.
• Monitor the use of materials, manage equipment, and coordinate the ordering of spare parts.
• Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure high standards are maintained.
• Mentor, train, and develop junior electricians to support their professional growth.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric.
• Valid Electrical Trade Certificate.
• Minimum of 3 years'' experience as a qualified Electrician.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and plans.
• Sound knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant regulations.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.
• Valid electrical certifications and licences.
