Senior Accountant

A well-established organisation within the retail sector is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting management accounting compliance and financial analysis functions.

Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as SAICA CIMA or SAIPA will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 57 years management accounting experience
• Previous experience within the retail industry is essential.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP Sage or similar platforms will be advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of audit processes and tax compliance requirements.

Job Description:

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts financial reports and variance analyses.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Support budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support business decision-making.
• Oversee general ledger reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations statutory requirements and internal controls.
• Monitor cash flow expenditure and financial risks within the business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
• Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP and financial systems.
• Mentor and guide junior finance team members where required.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the organisations financial strategy.
