Newly Qualified CA(SA) M&A Analyst

A leading investment and advisory firm is seeking a high-calibre Analyst to join its team. The role offers exposure to corporate finance capital raising and strategic advisory across a diverse client base with the opportunity to work on complex transactions alongside experienced dealmakers.

Role Purpose:
The Analyst will support senior team members in executing transactions financial analysis and client advisory mandates requiring strong technical skills attention to detail and a proactive approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed financial modelling valuation analysis and scenario planning
• Prepare high-quality client presentations pitch decks and information memoranda
• Perform industry market and company research to support transactions
• Assist with deal execution including due diligence and transaction coordination
• Analyse financial statements and identify key business drivers and risks
• Support senior bankers in client engagements and strategic advisory work
• Maintain financial databases and ensure accuracy of all outputs

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field
• Strong academic track record
• 13 years relevant experience in:
  • Corporate finance
  • Investment banking
  • Transaction advisory
  • Private equity / consulting (advantageous)

Technical & Competency Requirements:

• Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills
• Solid understanding of valuation methodologies (DCF comparables transaction multiples)
• Strong analytical and quantitative ability
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation development
