Statutory Reporting & Compliance Accountant

If youre a technically strong accountant who enjoys owning the numbers driving compliance and ensuring financial reporting stands up to audit scrutiny this role offers the opportunity to play a key position within a well-established business with both local and international operations.

The Opportunity:

This role sits at the heart of the finance function taking ownership of statutory reporting financial controls audit management tax compliance and General Ledger integrity.

Youll work closely with auditors tax advisors international stakeholders and leadership teams to ensure accurate reporting strong governance and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Ownership of the Trial Balance and General Ledger
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting packs
• Month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS
• Management of external audits and audit deliverables
• Corporate tax and VAT compliance
• SARS queries audits and regulatory submissions
• Fixed asset management and capital expenditure reporting
• Support of international and cross-border reporting requirements
• Financial controls governance and compliance initiatives
• Insurance administration and asset-related reporting

What were looking for:

• CA(SA) SAIPA ACCA AGA or equivalent accounting qualification
• 46 years experience in financial accounting statutory reporting or financial control
• Strong experience with:
  • Annual Financial Statements
  • IFRS reporting
  • Audit management
  • Tax and VAT compliance
  • General Ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
• Manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous
• Exposure to export-focused or international operations would be beneficial
• ERP experience such as Syspro Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar
