Position Summary

A highimpact executive mandate responsible for safeguarding organisational integrity strengthening governance maturity and driving enterprisewide legal risk and compliance excellence. This role leads strategic governance litigation oversight regulatory compliance fraudrisk mitigation and policy stewardship at executive level.

Core Executive Mandate

• Strategic Governance Leadership Shape and execute governance strategy support Board and Executive decisionmaking embed King IV principles and ensure organisational alignment with regulatory and governance standards.
• Legal Advisory & Litigation Oversight Deliver authoritative legal counsel manage complex contracts oversee litigation interpret legislation and protect organisational intellectual property.
• Enterprise Compliance & Risk Management Lead the Corporate Compliance Programme maintain the Corporate Risk Register drive investigations and ensure operational compliance across all business units.
• Fraud Waste & Abuse Governance Implement FWA frameworks manage investigations monitor emerging risks and champion ethical conduct and preventative controls.
• Policy Training & Stakeholder Engagement Develop policies deliver compliance training facilitate governance communication and maintain trusted confidential stakeholder relationships.
• Executive Operational Leadership Lead functional teams manage budgets oversee operational planning and ensure delivery of strategic Legal Risk and Governance outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

• LLB Degree (Admitted Attorney advantageous).
• Postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Membership with Compliance Institute SA or similar.
• Minimum 8 years commercial experience including 5 years at senior management level.
• Experience in the medical scheme / healthcare funding sector highly preferred.
