Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has become available with a leading national logistics and supply chain organisation for a commercially focused Financial Controller to join their Finance team.

This is not a traditional financial reporting role. We are looking for someone who enjoys partnering with operations analysing branch performance identifying trends and driving profitability across a national branch network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop analyse and manage branch Profit & Loss statements across multiple branches.
• Analyse revenue expenses margins and operational cost drivers.
• Identify financial trends risks and opportunities to improve branch profitability.
• Partner with Branch Managers to review monthly financial performance and recommend optimisation initiatives.
• Investigate variances and provide meaningful commercial insights.
• Support budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Monitor and improve key cost drivers including fleet labour fuel and transport costs.
• Produce accurate management reports and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
• Travel to branches to engage with operational teams and support performance improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Finance Accounting Management Accounting or a related field.
• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification (or significant progress towards completion) will be highly advantageous.
• Minimum 35 years experience in Financial Controlling Commercial Finance or Management Accounting.
• Proven experience managing branch or multi-site Profit & Loss reporting.
• Strong budgeting forecasting and variance analysis experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience within the logistics transport courier distribution or supply chain industry is essential.
• Experience with Power BI and ERP reporting systems will be advantageous.
