We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead our Fiduciary Compliance team. Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Fiduciary Compliance function ensuring timely and accurate completion of duties.
Implement checks and controls to maintain high standards of work and mitigate risks.
Manage and develop a diverse team ensuring optimal performance and adherence to company values and policies.
Act as a trustee on complex trusts and as an executor for estates ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with high-net-worth clients providing expert advice on fiduciary and tax matters.
Manage budgets and oversee management accounts related to the compliance function.
Provide strategic support to the Head of Fiduciary and Tax.
Contribute to publications and marketing initiatives to promote the Fiduciary and Tax business offering.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
Travel as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) SA qualification is essential.
Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a private wealth or trust company environment working with high-net-worth clients.
Extensive knowledge of investments accounting and tax related to trusts companies CCs and estates.
Robust understanding of trusteeships and executorships.
Strong numeracy skills and experience managing budgets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial modeling.
Advanced understanding of fiduciary duties estate planning and tax legislation within wealth management.
Day-to-Day
Lead and manage the Fiduciary Compliance team to ensure operational efficiency.
Address complex accounting and tax compliance issues.
Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports and budgets.
Act as a key point of contact for high-net-worth clients providing expert guidance on fiduciary and tax matters.
Collaborate with the Head of Fiduciary and Tax to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Ensure the team adheres to compliance standards and internal controls.
Contribute to thought leadership through publications and marketing efforts.
