Technical Sales Engineer

This field-based role is ideal for an experienced technical sales professional or a junior Electrical Engineer looking to build a career in the renewable energy industry.

Job Description

• Generate new business opportunities within an assigned territory
• Engage with residential and commercial customers to identify their energy requirements
• Promote renewable energy solutions and qualify prospective customers
• Capture customer information using CRM and mobile applications
• Attend marketing events and community activations to generate leads
• Achieve weekly and monthly sales activity targets
• Maintain accurate reports and provide market feedback
• Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth customer journey

Skills and Experience

• 3 years experience in technical sales field sales business development or customer-facing sales
• Alternatively a Degree in Electrical Engineering with an interest in technical sales
• Knowledge of solar electrical or renewable energy products is advantageous
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience using CRM systems
• Self-motivated target-driven and able to work independently
• Valid drivers licence and own reliable vehicle
• Willingness to travel within the assigned region

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is highly advantageous
• Alternatively a qualification in Sales Business or Marketing with relevant technical sales experience
