Financial Operational Manager

A leading manufacturing and production business based in Johannesburg South is seeking a highly driven and hands-on Operational Finance Manager to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

This is an office-based role that requires a strong operational finance professional who can partner with site management oversee financial activities across the production facility and drive business performance.
The successful candidate will be a qualified CA(SA) or CIMA/ACMA professional with a strong understanding of operational finance within a manufacturing production or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full finance function for the production site.
• Partner with operational and production teams to drive profitability and cost efficiencies.
• Monitor production costs inventory movements and manufacturing variances.
• Lead budgeting forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support operational decision-making.
• Manage monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Oversee intercompany transactions reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls policies and procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations.
• Monitor cash flow working capital and inventory management.
• Liaise with auditors and assist with year-end financial requirements.
• Lead and develop the site finance team.
• Support plant and operational management with strategic financial insights.
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.

Requirements:

• CA(SA) or Qualified CIMA/ACMA.
• Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing production engineering or industrial environment.
• Strong operational finance and business partnering experience.
• Experience overseeing site or plant finances.
• Proven experience with intercompany reporting and reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience.
