We are seeking an experienced Chemical Process Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to design optimise and commission complex chemical process systems while working on technically challenging projects with international impact.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Develop process designs for chemical manufacturing plants from concept through commissioning.
Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) equipment specifications and process calculations.
Perform mass and energy balances hydraulic calculations and equipment sizing.
Design and optimise reactors mixing systems pressure vessels heat exchangers piping networks and utility systems.
Conduct HAZOP SIL LOPA and other process safety studies.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes safety regulations and quality standards.
Support plant commissioning start-up performance testing and process optimisation.
Investigate process deviations identify root causes and implement sustainable engineering solutions.
Collaborate with mechanical electrical instrumentation and control engineers throughout project execution.
Prepare technical documentation engineering reports and operating procedures.
Provide technical support during procurement fabrication and construction activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant safety reliability and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
BEng or BSc Chemical Engineering.
Registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA or eligible for registration.
510 years experience in process engineering within chemical manufacturing explosives petrochemical mining pharmaceutical or related industries.
Strong understanding of process safety management principles.
